Davide Lorenzon is an Italian tenor saxophonist, curator, and founder of Aut Records, an independent label devoted to creative music. Born in Vittorio Veneto and now based in Bologna, he began his musical training in the 1990s, studying classical clarinet and saxophone at the “A. Corelli” music school with Dario Zandegiacomo. After becoming active in the punk-hardcore scene in the late 1990s, playing electric bass and vocals in various bands, he returned in 2005 to the saxophone, with a growing focus on improvised and jazz-related music.
In 2006 and 2007 he organised Variazioni, a festival for research and experimental music in Colle Umberto (Treviso). In 2010 he founded Aut Records, which has since published 150 releases. After moving to Berlin in 2011, he performed regularly with the Berlin Soundpainting Orchestra, Mountweazel, and Echo Chamber. Together with the Aut Crew, he also launched Aut Fest in 2014, followed by further editions in 2015 and 2016.
In spring 2025, with Echo Chamber, he took part in a nine-date tour in Japan.
Alongside his musical work, he has maintained a strong engagement with philosophy, politics, and science. He graduated in Philosophy from Ca’ Foscari University of Venice in 2009 with a thesis titled Food for Machines, Hunger for Humankind, focused on capitalism, nature, and hunger. He is currently completing a second Master’s degree at the Berlin School of Mind and Brain, Humboldt University. His first published article appeared in 2017 in the Swedish magazine Subaltern.
